Far from being interested in the actual \"pieces\" created, he has carefully depicted the spaces and places they passed through, with an attention to gestures, emotions and the unfolding of unpredictable events. From abandoned industrial sites to archaeological ruins, from popular railway yards to residential occupations, the photographs he has accumulated over time capture various intimate moments, including acts of vandalism and the disillusioned passage of time, the toil of everyday life and the exorcism of its difficulties through playful activities. In retracing this stratification of images through his archive, the author senses its narrative potential, the tension between documentation and fiction inherent in a well-defined historical and geographical episode that in turn fits into a parable - that of the world of writing - in continuous change. Trying to go beyond the surface of the 'Roman' chapter of the history of graffiti, here we find its reverse, the negative double of the most well-known and told stories about writing in the city. In The Far Site, the first monograph by Francesco Marchini created in collaboration with Chemistry Publishing, the black and white photographs from the author's personal archive dialogue with an autobiographical writing that attempts to speculatively elaborate its content - adding another layer of time and reflection to this story.
